Meet Jackie Pham

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jackie Pham.

Jackie Pham

Hi Jackie, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
Hello everyone and thank you for featuring my journey for our Houstonian community.  I grew up in my family’s business helping out with small tasks around the salon and then after high school, I got my cosmetology degree.  I’ve been doing brows since 1999. I also went to college to pursue pharmacy, but after a few years, I realized it wasn’t my passion. Throughout the years, I have worked at different salons, medical spas, and retail brow counters. I branched out and started my own business in 2015. I am an eyebrow specialist and when I started; there weren’t many eyebrow focused artists in Houston. I knew there was a need and a niche so therefore starting something that is so unknown was really scary. I focus on everything eyebrows related. I am a solo entrepreneur and prefer to work based on appointments only so that my clients can really get the one on one service.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I offer custom eyebrow waxing to suit and complement facial features, eyebrow tinting, eyebrow laminations, natural microblading, and semi-permanent make-up. There are temporary solutions and more permanent solutions. Temporary solution is my waxing and tinting service. This service is great for someone who needs color in their brows but in a shapely manner and a filled-in look for about a month.  Permanent solution is my natural microblading service.  This service is great for anyone who wished they had the most worry free brows everyday and only need to touch it up once a year or so. I have clients of all diversities, which is my skill set to be able to work with anyone and everyone. I absolutely love my job because it is very rewarding to give someone a set of brows that just lights up their entire face.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The best part I would say is my work and the satisfaction from my clients, hence makes me happy as well. The struggles would be wearing so many hats to operate the business, it’s the behind the scenes stuff.  My ultimate nightmare was when I expanded to my current location. The build out, permits, inspectors, inspections, and contractors were all very stressful. It took about a year to be able to open my doors. I am proud that I’ve been successful throughout the years even though I only provide a single service. What sets me apart is that I am able to work with any skin type or tone as I mentioned the diversities of my clientele. We are in Houston, a melting pot of all cultures and I’m well rounded so I do not intend to cater to only one diversity like many other artists nowadays.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up, I always felt like I wanted to be different than others so I wasn’t a follower; I just wanted to be myself in my own way. I am a straightforward person that will tell you the hard truths. I am mostly reserved but will get my point across when necessary.

I love everything girly related; shopping, make-up, shoes, clothes,  jewelry, beauty and etc. I love traveling, exploring and I am an adventurous foodie.

I am always interested in growing, learning and meeting clients.  I feel a need to evolve and become a better version of myself. I believe you can always learn from everyone, no matter their age so I keep an open mind as I also believe there are always two sides to every story.
