Meet Jada Wade of Houston

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jada Wade.

Hi Jada, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Honestly, where I am today, is only the beginning. I feel like everyone has a hidden special talent, and it’ll eventually show itself whenever YOU are wanting to bring it out. I’ve always been a theatrical person. I’ve done dance in highschool for 4 years, and recreationally. I was a theatre kid at one point in middle school and ran track. As someone who is always told, “Oh, you have an amazing personality!” or “You’re so animated.” I’ve always been a little shy and stayed in my bubble. But with God, and support from family and friends, I decided that I don’t want to be in a bubble anymore, I want to put myself out there!

Last year, a couple weeks before my birthday, I lost my dog and went through a break up within the same week. Til this day, I can’t believe that all happened so fast! I wanted to cancel the whole month of October and my birthday entirely. I was devastated. But I thought to myself, regardless of whatever happens in life, and as cliché as it sounds, keep going. Doesn’t mean I stopped grieving both of those incidents. I’m not a robot. Any tears I had or anger I felt, I let it all out. It’s so many obstacles that can block physically and emotionally and I knew if I were to mope around, I’d dig myself in a hole of depression and not do anything for myself.

The day of my birthday comes, I get glammed up by this amazing makeup artist in Katy, TX (@jaiiluxbeauty) I wanted to feel pampered, we talked, and it felt like I’ve known her forever! An amazing makeup artist overall. My hairstylist and best friend, Jenai (@itsallaaboutthehair) has my hair sleek and straight, which she always has the perfect touch with. She definitely knows how to make a girl feel pretty when the hair is done. Jenai tells me she has a surprise for me whenever we go out to the club. In my head i’m like, “Oh my gosh, what is this girl up to now.” Hours go by, she surprises me with a lifestyle photoshoot with a Houston photographer (@priceshotyou). I’m not gonna lie, that was the best part of the whole outing. I genuinely love taking pictures, posing, being on camera or video. The photographer snaps some good angles, everybody is having a good time, dancing, and the next day I realized I definitely want to get into modeling.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
So far, the road is a little bumpy, minor potholes here and there. You kinda have to swerve around them, so you don’t mess up your tires and sit in silence for a bit. I did another photoshoot in Houston. I sent them to local agencies around me, unfortunately it has been some No’s, but I definitely have done intensive research about the modeling world and it’s bound to happen. What’s even more challenging is that i’m 5’2. I do know that it’ll be a little bit more complicated just because in the “perfect” world, some agencies are wanting models that are 5’5 and up, but that’s not stopping me.

My confidence can definitely fluctuate a bit. Sometimes I don’t like my nose, or I get anxious because I want clear glass skin. I look at myself, and see one eye is bigger than the other, or I look asymmetrical. I start pinpointing all my flaws. But with agencies, I think of it as dating as crazy as it sounds. If one doesn’t accept you as you are, the next one will LOVE all your flaws and see it all as beautiful.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Let’s say, I’m just known as Jada. I’m 24, finding myself, brainstorming so many creative ideas to stand out. A young woman, working full time in the beauty industry, and investing in herself as a freelance model.

I’m proud of this journey of growth and taking chances. I told myself I want to be in Miami Swimweek, and now I have a flight to Miami in a couple months to make a casting call. Im being consistent in making content on Tiktok and Instagram! I do have a Youtube channel as well. Overall, i’m my own walking commercial and I’ll continue to promote myself.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Being in theater has helped so much of my personality. I’m a fast learner. Tone, expression, humor, everything comes so quick to me. I’m looking into acting and voice acting classes to perfect my skills. I definitely want to be in a tv series or movie. I see myself in a rom-com movie or show. But, if it happens to be horror, Im open to portray crazy. Jennifer’s Body crazy.

Eventually, I will have my own beauty brand. It’s currently in the works. I can’t say the name just yet, but the products are going to be super inclusive!
