Today we’d like to introduce you to Jade Lovelace.
Hi Jade, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I began my journey after having my second born and had endured PPHL (postpartum hair loss) I utilized various types of products, and nothing was helping with the balding and excessive hair loss. So, upon attempting to google remedies and solutions, it wasn’t much education nor products out on the shelves that helped target hair loss. So, I began creating hair oils, serums, shampoos, and conditioners while also going through schooling to become a Trichologist. I knew I wanted to help others in my situation. I would give free samples of products to others to try, and it eventually became a hair care line I would bring into fruition and began to sell. I also saw the need for children’s hair care products, especially those with coarser and kinkier hair, aka nappy, so it became a signature product of mine as well.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Not at all; in the beginning of my journey, I was faced with the urge to just make it. I was in the midst of the big entrepreneur boom in 2019, so a lot of us were looking for the dream of just making it. I came across those who preyed on new business owners as coaches, and I was scammed out of money. Having to rebrand and find my niche it was a roller coaster of also figuring out the content to post and being too much in my head, and overthinking things. It was times I wanted to give up because I felt my area of business was over saturated. I felt almost an imposter syndrome, as if I didn’t deserve to be a part of the hair care industry.
As you know, we’re big fans of Blissful Crown Hair Care. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about the brand?
I am a Trichologist, and I study the hair and scalp for those in the Afro community, but I am knowledge about all hair types. I also have certification in formulating hair and a body care products. I am known as the Herbalist who creates hair products that help tackle the primary issues found in the Afro community when dealing with hair loss, various types of Alopecias, along with moisture retention. What sets me apart is that I hand make my products and utilize herbs and plant-based ingredients for my products. I find that I am most proud of my rebranding and getting the right coach and brand marketing to get my business in a position to be seen and attract More business. What I would like for the readers to know about my brand is that my brand was made for us by us and will continue to serve the community. Whether it’s providing hair tips or showing little girls and adults how to embrace their hair texture and how to maintain it. I take pride in knowing I’m helping to dismantle the Eurocentric influence that has plagued the Afro community for generations, and I know I must persuade my community through hook or crook to seeing their hair just needs some TLC with knowledge of your crown and healthy products.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up, I was quiet, which led people to bully me, especially for my hair, as I had tight coils or what many would say it was nappy. It caused me to be insecure with myself and struggle with my beauty as I was also the much darker child, so I stayed in my room or the library and read books often. I was a dancer since the age of 6 until I was in my late teens.
