Meet Jaime Martinez of Ballistic Entertainment

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jaime Martinez.

Jaime, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
From a young age, I have always loved music. I love the emotion it brings out in people.

My parents would always have gatherings and the one thing that was a constant at all those parties was good music. When I was about 6 my brother got really into DJing and he would always practice his beat matching and mixing in the living room, so from a young age I was always fascinated by DJing. I would always play with my brother’s turntables when he was gone, and I remember helping him load up milk crates full of records when he had events. My brother eventually moved on to start up another business so I taught myself how to DJ from what I picked up from him, and just ran with the business idea he started.

Has it been a smooth road?
When I started on my own I had to do so many free events just so hopefully someone would love what they heard enough to hire me for their events. Over the years I have developed a really good relationship with my clients to the point where if they hear of anyone needing a DJ, my name is sure to always come up.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Ballistic Entertainment – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Our motto will always ring true at any event I DJ. “You provide the people we provide the party”. I don’t claim to be the best DJ in the world, but one thing I know I have in common with the best in the world is my love for the music. I like to specialize in events that are diverse because growing up I went through so many phases with music to the point where I listened to all music from 50’s -60’s soul to 70’s and 80’s disco/Funk to current top 40 music in English and Spanish. That diversity is what I think separates me from other competitors. I don’t really fit into one genre of music when I DJ, the more options and the types of music I can play usually makes for a better party.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I have lived in Houston my whole life and this will always be home to me because of the melting pot we live in. We have every race/religion in one city and we all enjoy and celebrate each other cultures more than other places I visit. Houston on its own has its own culture that you just have to live here to know what I’m talking about. The thing I like the least about Houston is easily the traffic on every highway you can think of! It takes at least 1 hour to get anywhere during traffic hours which seems like all day with all these 290 constructions.
