Today we’d like to introduce you to Jaime Monica.
Hi Jaime, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My mom is really crafty and gets into and out of crafts often. She decided she wanted to make a few cups so she bought all the equipment and supplies that she needed. She made a couple of things and decided it wasn’t for her. I decided to see if maybe it was something I wanted to play around with. Little did I know it was going to become the thing I was passionate about and that would help me provide for my family.
At first, I just made a few cups here and there for friends. But the better I got the more word of mouth spread I slowly started making cups for lots of different people.
Over the last two years, I’ve really worked hard to not only grow my business but really hone my craft. I’m very particular about attention to detail. And I think it helps me to produce a high-quality product that I’m proud of.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I’ve had quite a few highs and lows. It was pretty difficult when we moved from one side of the state to the other last year. It really forced me to have to rebuild my clientele. But I think I’ve got a really nice start on a good customer base at this point. I’m obviously always trying to gain more customers but I’m happy with the way my business seems to be growing.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I make art with epoxy. Mostly what I do is design tumblers, from simple to intricate! But I also make other things like keychains, pens, and earrings. I’m most proud of the fact that a lot of my designs are original and don’t look like anyone else’s. I think the amount and the way that I use glitter really is the thing that sets me apart.
So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
I love working with customers to come up with specific individual designs so that what they come away with is a collaborative effort that has left them something that is one of a kind
