Meet James Wyatt

Today we’d like to introduce you to James Wyatt.

Hi James, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I am the founder, owner, and operator of BC Fitness and in the last five years, I have become one of the most sought-after fitness and run coaches in the greater Houston area.

I hold multiple NCCA Certifications as a Personal trainer, health and run coach (ACE [American Council on Exercise], AMSFA [American Sports and Fitness Association], RRCA [Road Runners of America]).

I actively work in the community, by volunteering much of my time as a servant leader at the Church of Champions, fitness coach for Heritage Preparatory academy, P.E. teacher for the lights of Grace home school coop and as Run coach for the Champions Running association.

In addition, I like to compete myself. I am an Elite OCR (obstacle course race) athlete, an OCR World and US champion competitor, and a 3-time American Ninja Warrior Las Vegas Finalist, 4 x marathoner, and most recently won the men’s doubles regional in the Hyrox fitness competition, qualifying my team for the world championships.

With over 20 years of industry experience, I have embraced the benefits of functional training and believe that exercise should be energetic and fun. More than anything, I strive to inspire my athletes and the community to make positive lifestyle changes in unique and innovative ways. I am passionate and dedicated to teaching individuals the true benefits of living an active and healthy lifestyle.

“When you change your mind, you can change your life.”

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
“My whole life has been a million to one shot.” Rocky

At 22, I was alone, homeless, and without hope. But over the last 20 years have found hope through my faith, church, and family.

Built a business from nothing and found ways to help those struggling themselves. Through the grace of God and the help and support of a great community, the struggle has become the triumph.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a fitness, run, and obstacle course coach. I thrive and specialize in taking ordinary people, molding them into champions. I have trained moms, dads, doctors, kids, special needs, and everyone in between into race podium finishers, world champions, and American Ninja warriors. I wouldn’t say I’m a very proud person, but what I receive the greatest joy from is seeing people conquer goals they never thought possible. I believe in removing ” I can’t” from our vocabulary.

Any big plans?
Our goal is to continue to grow the BCFitFam, where BC Fitness continues to inspire change and make a greater positive impact on our city as a whole. We want to continue to create a unique environment where everyone can belong. Where true fitness is NOT about being better than someone else but rather being better than YOU used to be. We have a unique business plan designed around the development of our athletes and our community rather the bottom line. Within the next five years, we plan to have multiple locations building Champions throughout North West Houston.
