Meet Jamis Cary of JCary Lash co in Southwest

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jamis Cary.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’m from Atlanta, GA I decided to move to Houston in 2016. I was looking for something “that was for me.” A month living in Houston, I realized the beauty industry wasn’t as influential as it is where I’m from. I was working a security job and tried lash extensions from Jadore Lash. Jass and I became good friends and she influenced me to start doing lashes. I flew to Atlanta to take my first course and I was thinking to myself this is such a hard craft. I kept at it though, I actually had someone on my table practicing right after my training. I practiced every single day all day until it became natural. A couple of months after my first training, I flew to Dallas and took another class. Now I’m three months in the game and I was beasting… literally.

At this point, I was back and forth from Atlanta to Houston servicing lashes. I decided to stay in Houston for good and build a brand. I eventually got licensed in Texas (wasn’t required in Atlanta). Everything I do, I put my all into it and try to set myself apart from the rest even if we’re offering the same thing. I started to think what I could do to set the tone for my “brand.” I starting looking into branding and marketing and found my niche. I fell in love with recreating myself and my brand. I took it upon myself to create EVERYTHING from the logo, website, flyers anything media-wise, all from apps on my iPhone, even product photos. Oh yeah, I started selling lashes about one year into my career. Then added tweezers, then came adhesive. Now, I sell over 20+ professional lashing products for other stylists nationwide.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Fortunately for me, my business continues to grow more and more everyday. I’ve learned that it’s not always going to be dollar signs everyday but as long as you keep investing in yourself, you’ll always see improvement from any side of business.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with JCary Lash co – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
JCary Lash company is exactly what the name says. Now, “we” as a company offer lash extensions, micro blading and makeup. We retail lash supplies to local techs in-store and nationwide via website. I’m extremely proud to say I’ve branded my business so well that others automatically identify with it. The marketing and branding definitely sets my company apart from others.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
You’ll have to wait and see what we offer next.
