Today we’d like to introduce you to Janeth Gomez.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Flowers have always been my happy place, it has brought genuine happiness and connected me with nature. Something that started as a hobby and soon became my dream career. It eventually got to a point where everyone around me was cheering me to make it a business and career. There were times where I doubted myself and that’s the reason why it took me four years to make it my career and bloom as a Florist. When I graduated, I was unsure of what I would be doing with my life. I graduated, went to college and pursued an Education Degree, but deep down I knew my calling was being my own boss, owning my own brand and company. This has definitely not been easy as a first-time business owner you have to mainly believe in yourself, want more and always have a positive mindset.It’s not about being perfect but putting the effort to making things happen.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I live by my parent’s words which are “nada en esta vida es fácil tienes que trabajar duro para lo que quieras así sea lo más chiquito” which translates to “nothing in this life is easy, you have to work hard for everything even on the smallest things”. I’ve never seen life as been easy, however it does not discourage or faces me. I take every challenge and own it. Being new to this field where I had to learn after my mistakes, work alone and only relying on myself has been one of my biggest challenges. I also have a full-time Education job where my working hours are 7am-4pm it takes up all my day. I have to manage my time wisely, where I can fit and meet my goals. It’s definitely challenging and time-consuming, but I wouldn’t want it any other way. It’s not an easy road but I’m living for it.
Please tell us about Les Fleur Botanicals.
Les Fleur Botanicals is a Floral Company that does everything flower related. It’s cliche to say it, but it really does. My brand is mostly known for Wedding Events specifically Bridal Bouquets and Boutonnieres. I create unique floral designs to adorn corporate events, delivery arrangements, office arrangements, preserved flower art. YOU NAME IT!There is so much more to come and can’t wait for Houston to see it! I believe what I’m known for is my style which is a modern, minimal and atheistic designs. What sets me apart from others is me, my dedication, willingness, excitement and most importantly my love for what I do.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
There will always be things we wished we had done differently or situations we wished we’d handled a different way, but without any of that no one would ever grow or learn. The only thing I would have done differently is giving myself more props since the beginning and not doubting myself so much. Giving my work more value and appreciate my gift of being a florist more than what I did when I first started. There is a timing for everything I believe all the things that stopped me before from blooming are the same that push me everyday to become better.
