Meet Janine Cascio of Simplending Financial

Today we’d like to introduce you to Janine Cascio.

Hi Janine, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My story is one of intention, resilience, and learning to trust my own vision—especially when the path wasn’t clearly marked.

I didn’t start out with a perfectly mapped plan or a safety net made of shortcuts. What I did have was an early fascination with how money works, how real estate creates leverage, and how the right capital at the right time can completely change someone’s trajectory. I saw firsthand how access—or lack of it—to financing could stall good projects and great people. That stayed with me.

Like many entrepreneurs, my journey wasn’t linear. I built my career by saying yes to responsibility early, learning the business from the inside out, and becoming deeply fluent in both the numbers and the people behind them. I learned quickly that technical skill gets you in the room, but trust, consistency, and integrity keep you there. Those lessons became the foundation of how I lead today.

The decision to launch Simplending Financial came from a clear gap I couldn’t ignore. Real estate investors needed a lending partner who was not only capital-backed, but relationship-driven—someone who understood their strategy, timelines, and long-term vision. I wanted to build a firm that felt clear, direct, and human in an industry that often felt rigid and transactional.

As CEO, my role has evolved from doing everything to building systems, leaders, and culture. Growth has required discipline, uncomfortable decisions, and a commitment to conscious leadership—choosing to build something sustainable rather than something rushed. Today, Simplending Financial supports investors nationwide through programs designed for fix-and-flip, rental, bridge, and ground-up construction projects, with a team that believes in excellence and accountability.

Along the way, I’ve learned that success isn’t just measured by volume or revenue—it’s measured by alignment. Alignment between values and action. Between ambition and impact. Between who you are building for and who you are becoming in the process.

I’m still building. Still learning. Still refining. But everything I’ve created so far is rooted in one belief: when you lead with clarity, discipline, and purpose, growth follows—personally and professionally.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road—and honestly, I wouldn’t trust the journey if it were. Building a company while evolving as a leader has come with plenty of challenges. Early on, one of the biggest struggles was learning to let go: trusting systems, trusting people, and not trying to do everything myself.

There were moments of financial pressure, scaling pains, hiring lessons learned the hard way, and times when growth outpaced structure. I also had to learn how to protect my energy and lead with clarity rather than urgency. Each challenge sharpened my discipline, strengthened my intuition, and ultimately built a more resilient business.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
Some of my favorite memories are simple ones—family gatherings filled with laughter, long conversations, and a sense of togetherness. Those moments shaped my love for community and connection, which still shows up today in how I build teams and relationships. Even back then, I valued people, shared experiences, and creating spaces where others felt supported.
