Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Hicks.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Jasmine. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
After I graduated college, I begin my career working as the Customer Service Manager and Event Planner for the Sugar Land Skeeters, I organized special programs, events, and benefits to increase public involvement and drive loyalty within the community. Little did I know, the knowledge that I acquired and the experiences that I went through would allow me to create a platform to service others in the form of Legendary Events.
In 2015, after being hospitalized on complete bed-rest for two and a half months, my husband and I welcome a courageous baby boy into the world. Unfortunately, this was no easy feat, as he was born prematurely with many health issues ranging from Hydrocephalus, a condition in which excessive fluid is on the brain and puts pressure on the brain tissue, to Cerebral Palsy.
Due to Wesley’s medical needs, my husband and I decided that it was best that I stay home with him because he required so much. Of course, change can be great, but it can be scary as well. Not knowing how I would make this work (because I am such a busy body), I had to make peace with the fact that my son needed me more than anything else. What I didn’t know was the birth of my son would be the birth of Legendary Events as well!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Absolutely NOT! There were many hardships I had to overcome; fear being the biggest factor. Fear of failing! Fear of putting my family in a financial pit to fund my dream (one that I wasn’t even sure would come to pass). Fear of not being good enough! Starting from the bottom with no portfolio I could call my own, I was fearful that my business would never grow. Although I was prepared to work hard and make sacrifices where needed (any there were many), I knew it was a matter of “sink or swim.”

Legendary Events is a full-service event planning company specializing in event planning, luxury design, event management and production. We have been responsible for producing unique and captivating events servicing many clients with varied desires and needs. Furthermore, we provide all clients with a remarkable product along with phenomenal customer service because it is the legendary way.
We specialize in all social events including, but not limited to Baby Showers, Gender Reveals, Sip and Sees, Birthday Parties, Corporate Parties, Cocktail Parties, Bridal Occasions, Retirement and Anniversary Parties.
As a company, I am most proud of my phenomenal team. The Legendary Team are ROCKSTARS. They bring their “A Game” for every event and provide their best efforts to ensure that the client is pleased during the planning process and at the actual event.
We are unique because of our foundation. We are a family-oriented company rooted with love, integrity, honesty and respect. We possess high values, ethical standards, and are always committed to our clients, which is evident from the hard work and time we put in to our productions.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My aunt (who is more like my sister) and I use to ride our go-cart through the dirt hills behind our childhood home. We spent hours outside playing and pretending that we were driving up to an imaginary McDonald’s drive-thru on our lunch break before we hit the hills again (because driving go-carts was considered work and we were Monster Jam Truck Drivers). What can I say; we had vivid imaginations!
