Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Nguyen.
Hi Jasmine, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Things got started in 2019 when I got a random DM from a casting director asking if I would be interested in the upcoming season of ABC’s The Bachelor. I had seen bits and pieces of the show in the past but I was never an adamant watcher. I entertained the message for a bit and the next thing I knew, I was being flown out to LA for my final interview with the producers of the show. Being a part of Season 24 was the wildest time of my life and one of the most unforgettable experiences. Since my time on the show, I’ve grown a following across my social media platforms which in some ways can come with the territory of reality TV, but I took the opportunity as a way to connect with other like-minded women and have truly created an amazing community. I actually recently left my corporate America job to pursue content creation full-time! Looking back, it is crazy to see how much my life has changed in the most unexpected way from just a DM.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. I initially had no idea what my life was going to be like in the capacity that it did after the show aired. As I mentioned, the social media aspect kind of comes with the territory now but learning how to navigate it after the fact was difficult. I will say though that social media platforms have been great for meeting people who are more experienced in the space and most people have been super helpful when it comes to questions I may have or struggles I may be going through – the internet can truly be such a beautiful thing!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I think my “specialty” has evolved with me over time – what started as an audience of mostly Bachelor Nation has grown more so to women who enjoy the same things I do – chatting about my favorite beauty products, fashion, humor, and just coming along for my daily life and whatever that may entail. I think I’ve also learned to show up on my platforms in my more vulnerable moments which has allowed for a deeper connection with my followers which I love. We all know social media isn’t always “real life,” but I’d like to think I’ve been able to actually show more than just that highlight reel to my audience because they care and are interested in all of my moments, the good and the bad!
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
This question is interesting to me because I typically wouldn’t consider myself to be a risk-taker, but as I mentioned earlier, I recently quit my full-time job and that was a major risk for me (or at least it felt like it in the moment!) It’s only been about a month, I can confidently say it was 100% worth it and I’m so grateful that I did it.
Generally, though, I think that if something is scary or makes you uncomfortable, you should do it. I strongly believe that it will help you change or evolve in the best way. There are obviously different degrees of risk, but the ones that are more personal, like making a big move or quitting/starting a new job – usually help shape you into the person you’re meant to be.
