Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Thompkins.
Jasmine, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’ve always been interested in fashion and beauty! Growing up in a small town being diverse and standing out was a thing! I started doing hair at the age of 16, I always watched my mom braid my hair and I used to do my friends and family hair for fun. But I never looked at the beauty industry as being a prestigious career, just maybe something fun to do on the side and make quick fast money. I was working 9-5 jobs doing things that didn’t excite me at all, I was always pulled back to braiding hair. Attending cosmetology school after high school. Studying the beauty industry and the possibilities and advantages within it. I pursued braiding FULL time stepping out onto faith.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It’s not an easy road in the beauty industry! It’s ups and down! It’s good money and it’s bad money. I’ve always managed to follow my heart and stay on track even when I stopped, I start back, I have given up and said I wouldn’t continue or even try again. So the road defiantly isn’t smooth, but if your passionate about it. you’ll find your way and you’ll get through the bumps. I always say even the greatest have obstacles to stay on top.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with GetJaszieBraids – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I am a braider! I do all types of braids! I specialize in Knotless braids, LONG EXTENDED braids. I’ve grown a high platform and become known on the social media for my knee and ankle length braids. I’m most proud of investing last year of 2020 in my very own tiny home shop. I build connections, I build reports with my clients. My name is @GetJaszie simply because I know what’s it’s like to be in the chair, so when I braid, I put myself in the chair and give you what I’d expect!
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
My future plans are expansion. Build a high platform. Let the world know about @Getjasziebraids! I’m planning to network and connect more of 2021, Build more clientele.
