Today we’d like to introduce you to Jason Barron-Ethridge.
Jason, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I’m a firefighter and we have odd schedules so a bunch of firemen have other side firefighting jobs or have their own company. Every so often someone will come up to the fire station and ask if we know of a firefighter who does plumbing, electrical, sheetrock etc and one day someone asked about an assembler. I started to think to myself, wow how neat would it be to have a company of just firefighters that assemble things for customers after they purchase them from the store. 7 yrs. later, 22 firefighters working for the company and we are growing every year.
Has it been a smooth road?
It’s been pretty smooth so far. Starting a small business has its struggles because you have to get the DBA, insurance, background checks, tax statements, etc but other than that the only real struggle is making sure EVERYONE knows about our company so they don’t have to struggle with the assembly themselves.

Our company Fired Up Assemblers is owned and operated by local firefighters from Houston and surrounding departments. We assemble just about anything a customer purchases from the store or online and needs to be put together. The most common items are: Indoor & Outdoor furniture, exercise equipment, playsets, trampolines, sheds, gazebos, children toys and so much more.
When customers see we are firefighters they know they can trust us to be inside their house, around their kids and belongings but have nothing to worry about instead of some random company you have never heard of before. Since we are firefighters it’s like we are helping people whether we are at the station or at their house assembling. Some customers even tell us we saved their marriage by them calling us instead of them fighting over directions.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Yes Houston is the prime spot for our business because there isn’t another company out there like ours. Plus with the smaller cities around Houston we are able to venture out further to help more customers.
