Hi Javonnie, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Well, I’ve always been into candles and different fragrances. I Would be the first one running to some of the large retailers like bath and body works and Yankee for their yearly annual sales. When Covid hit and I went on furlough with my job, I decided to buy a candle making kit and make my own. Little did I know, my so called hobby would turn into a small business.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The challenge with this kind of business is you burn through a lot of money for testing and in this business, there’s so much competition at times you find yourself doubting if your product will sell as good as the bigger retailers.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a candle maker and I specialize in luxury products at affordable prices. I am most known for my candles, but I also have a wide variety of Highly Addictive Scents along with a volume of other amazing products such as car fresheners, wax melts and my newest product reed diffusers. Of course, I am most proud of candles, but I am also incredibly proud of my hard work and dedication throughout all of the trials and errors of testing and my perseverance to keep going and I believe that’s what sets me apart from the rest.
Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
Watching YouTube is a big inspiration of mine because it’s helped me a lot through all of my testings because I learned so much about the process of candle making and I learned a ton of new techniques to adapt and make my own. More so than I could have learned from that first candle making kit that I started it all with.
