Hi Jayce, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Growing up in Beaumont, Texas, I didn’t have a blueprint for where I wanted to end up. It’s the kind of place where everyone knows everyone, and many people spend their whole lives there. There’s nothing wrong with that, but I knew I wanted to experience more. Leaving for the University of Houston was one of the first truly scary decisions I made because I was stepping into something completely unfamiliar with more questions than answers.
Looking back, that decision changed everything. College became the place where I found my voice. I had the opportunity to welcome thousands of incoming students as an Orientation Leader, a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, and eventually experienced something I never imagined — being part of the university’s first ever Black Homecoming King and Queen pair. Having a day proclaimed in our honor by late U.S. Representative Sheila Jackson Lee wasn’t just an award to me. It represented what can happen when you say yes to opportunities that feel bigger than you.
After graduation, I moved to Austin to begin my career at Dell Technologies. Like a lot of people there in their twenties, I thought I had my career mapped out, but life has a funny way of changing your plans. Every role afterwards taught me something different about myself and eventually led me back to Houston, where I’m now pursuing my master’s degree in Human Resource Leadership while continuing to grow professionally as a university career coach.
Around the same time, I discovered another passion that I never expected: creating content around technology, gaming, and lifestyle. What started as simply sharing products and jokes, my perspective turned into opportunities to work with brands like JLab, FIFINE, and others. It’s also shown me that technology isn’t limited to corporate offices, it can also be used to educate, entertain, and build community online.
For a long time, I thought I had to choose one path. I believed I had to decide between working in HR, pursuing technology, or creating content. Over time, I’ve realized I don’t have to fit into one box. I can build a career in Human Resources while creating tech content, continue learning, and allow myself the freedom to evolve.
I’m still figuring things out, and honestly, I think that’s okay. My story isn’t about having everything perfectly planned, it’s about being willing to take the next step even when I don’t have all the answers. Every opportunity I’ve had started with saying yes before I felt completely ready, and that’s something I hope encourages someone else who’s waiting for the “perfect time” to start.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I wouldn’t say it’s been a completely smooth road, but every challenge has taught me something valuable. One of the biggest struggles has been navigating adulthood without always knowing what the “right” next step was. I had to learn that there’s never a “right” or “wrong” steps. God orders my steps. There were times when I questioned whether I had chosen the right career, whether I was falling behind compared to my peers, or whether I was making the right decisions by moving to different cities and starting over.
Another challenge has been learning not to put myself in a box. I’ve realized that I don’t have to limit myself. Some of the best opportunities have come from embracing all of my interests instead of trying to fit into one lane.
Like many people building something for themselves, there have also been moments of self-doubt. Putting yourself out there online, creating content, and growing a personal brand can feel vulnerable, especially for millions of people to see. You wonder if people will connect with what you’re creating or if you’re doing enough. But I’ve learned that consistency matters more than perfection and community matters more than numbers.
Looking back, I wouldn’t change those challenges because they’ve shaped who I am. They’ve taught me resilience, adaptability, and the importance of trusting God’s process even when the path isn’t completely clear.

Professionally, I’m building a career that blends people, technology, and creativity. My full-time career is in Higher Education Career Coaching. I’m currently pursuing my Master’s in Human Resource Leadership at the University of Houston because I’m passionate about helping people grow, develop, and find opportunities where they can thrive. I live by being the difference I’ve always wanted to see and being the guidance for others that I needed myself. I enjoy creating positive experiences for others, whether that’s supporting students, helping someone navigate their career, or finding ways to improve processes through technology.
Outside of my career, I create technology and lifestyle content across social media. What started as a creative outlet has grown into collaborations with brands I love. I enjoy making technology feel approachable and sharing products that I genuinely believe bring value to people’s everyday lives. For me, content creation is about more than reviewing products and entertainment, but about building community and creating content that people can relate to and learn from.
One of the projects that’s closest to my heart is Faith in Action, a community service group I created to encourage people to live out their faith beyond Sunday mornings. My goal was to create a space where people could give back to our local community, grow spiritually, build genuine relationships, and support one another through every season of life. Watching people come together, strengthen their faith, and find a sense of belonging has been one of the most rewarding experiences, and it continues to remind me that real impact starts with serving others.
What I’m most proud of isn’t a single accomplishment but the willingness to continue evolving. From leaving my hometown to pursue college, building a career in technology, transitioning into Human Resources, and now growing a personal brand, I’ve never allowed myself to be defined by just one title. I’ve learned that it’s okay to have multiple passions and pursue them wholeheartedly.
I think what sets me apart is my authenticity. Whether I’m working with people, creating content, or partnering with brands, I want people to know they’re getting the real version of me. I don’t pretend to have everything figured out because I value genuine connections, continuous learning, and using every opportunity to inspire someone else to step outside of their comfort zone. At the end of the day, if someone walks away feeling more informed, encouraged, or confident to saying “yes” because of something I shared, then I feel like I’ve done my job.
