Today we’d like to introduce you to Jayla Durio.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Jayla. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Growing up, I wasn’t allowed to wear makeup, but my first year in middle school, there was a CVS right near the school. I would ask my mom for lunch money but instead, after school, I would sneak and buy makeup. I would practice every day and hurry to take it off before my mom got home. As years went on, I gained an excessive love for makeup that my family had finally realized it was something I loved. The Christmas of 2016 my family got me loads of makeup which I was in total wow about. So, the year 2017 came around and I thought to myself I feel an older now so I should give it a try being an aspiring makeup artist. I finally gained a little confidence after speaking with different people, they told me if this is my dream, I should go after it. 2018 came and I still didn’t have enough confidence until the end of the year, I then started branding and making a name for myself so now, as of the year 2019, I have gained clientele and created makeup tutorial videos on Instagram and finding ways to get better.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has been a smooth road knowing I have people who are willing to help me grow as well as growing with me.
Tell us about your business. What do you do, what do you specialize in, what are you known for, etc. What are you most proud of as a company? What sets you apart from others?
The business I am in is makeup artistry. I specialize in making others feel more confident with beauty enhancement and this is one thing I am most proud of. What sets me apart from others is my technique every one has their own style of how they do something no one is the same.

My family especially my mother plays a big role within my success, they always tell me to keep going no matter how hard it may get and to know there’s light at the end of every dark tunnel.
