Meet Jeannette Stagg of Katy Mobile Studio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeannette Stagg.

Jeannette, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
My biggest aspiration was to be like celebrity stylists, Jen Atkin, and Joseph Maine. I loved seeing them travel to their clients and it was the norm in LA or NY but hadn’t quite started in Houston yet. I was working in the salon for about four years and would cut my friends outside of the salon. They always expressed how much they loved the luxury and convenience of having me set up shop in their home. I made the decision to transition out of the salon into my own business and although it was a scary move it was one of the best to this day!

Networking, networking , networking! It has had a huge impact on the growth of my business as well as myself. Almost everyone wouldn’t belie me when I say I am an introvert. However, I’ve learned to push past that in order to meet new people and get out of my confront zone. The reason I wanted to touch basis on this because it’s what’s helped me land some of my careers biggest moments. From working NYFW with celebrity stylist, Joseph Maine and getting to travel to Naples, Italy for a bridal shoot! And not to mention all the amazing artists I’ve worked with in Houston and being published in bridal and editorial spreads online and print.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I’m sure we’ve all seen those memes online where it shows a graph going zig zag with the high point being your successful days and the lows are the struggle of entrepreneurship. As an owner, I can say that chart does not lie! Through my three year journey with KMS no matter the success and growth I’ve achieved there are still days where I question myself. If there’s ever a moment things aren’t going according to plan I’ll question all of my work. What we have to remind ourselves is that every entrepreneur goes through this. That’s where I find it so important to surround myself with those who support me and can help me see the bigger picture of my growth when I am  at a moment like this.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Katy Mobile Studio – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
The name says it all! What makes Katy Mobile Studio so unique is the mobile aspect. Our clients love that we can come out to them without them having to leave their house, find a sitter, fight through traffic, or change out of their loungewear. It’s the luxury of being pampered in the comfort of their home, office, hotel, or where ever we are needed. With the way, things are now let’s be real time is the most valuable things we don’t have much of. It’s not easy for a lot of men, women, or brides to make it into the salon and that’s where we make it convenient for them.

I’m some excited to announce KMS now offers in studio services located in the Heart of Katy! I’m proud to see not only how far KMS has come in the last 3 years, but myself too. What started as a one-woman show has now become a team of beautiful and talented artists. Although I take pride in our 5 star rating online, that is not what’s important. Our number on priority is making sure our client enjoy the experience and feel 100% satisfied. If that means having to redo or adjust anything we are more than happy to do so on the spot or to find a time at their convenience to have them back in. If your clients aren’t happy then that will be what can slowly kill a business.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
My goal would be to expand out team to latest 10 hairstylist/artist. I would also love to continue to travel for destination weddings/shoots. This past April I got to go to Naples, Italy for a bridal shoot and it was more than I could have dreamed of. I truly believe no dream or wish it too big as long as you set a plan and goals for yourself. You have to set a plan to move closer towards your goals, otherwise without that it will remain a dream.

Further down the line, I have thought of the idea of stepping back from the chair to educate. I do share a passion for teaching others, whether that be stylists or clients. Sharing your knowledge is the greatest gift you can give. What good does it do to have all the skills in your talent and to keep them to yourself? The best feeling is when a client messages me a photo of a style the were able to recreate from a tutorial I shared! If they are able to take once piece of information away when leaving my I know I did my job right!
