Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeff Swedarsky.
Jeff, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
About six years ago, we saw him an opportunity to introduce the rapidly expanding all American culture of Houston and both locals and visitors. We put together a food tour company, and began to grow it over the years. We’ve been partnered with the city of Houston on their request to build and strengthen coronary two packages under our name, and their name (Houston Culinary Tours).
Our philosophy is to provide an array of walking and motorcoach tours as well as exciting team building events. Our activities combine the city’s history, culture architecture, and great food and drink scene into interactive tours and team building events.
We offer 3 hour walking tours 5-6 times a week to the public, as well as corporate tours and find around for groups of nearly any size.
In addition, we run cooking classes, iron chef challenges around the world challenges and more, bringing together exciting team building events for groups of any size. We utilize our mobile kitchen systems to enable us to work in nearly any sized.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
One of the biggest obstacles was product recognition. Initially, when we only ran food tours they were a niche product familiar to only a fraction of the population.
As they have become more mainstream, we have been able to do more more tours and events. We still aren’t pushing sure our products are available to a wider market to facilitate our growth.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Taste of Houston Food Tours /4Lobe Evehtd Houston story. Tell us more about the business.
We offer food tours, done around, pub crawls, scavenger hunts as well as corporate and team building events such as Iron chef inspired culinary challenges, cooking classes, cake creation, and much more.
Our products focus on the culture of different neighborhoods and of the city itself. We work hard to integrate Houston into everything we do both events and tours.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I think it’s difficult to assess exactly the role luck played in my business. I believe you have to prepare and be as good as possible to and take advantage of any potential lucky opportunity.
