Meet Jenise Hampton of Caring Star Medical Services in North

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenise Hampton.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Jenise. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My career began as a Registered Nurse working with postpartum mothers and babies in the hospital. During this time, I quickly progressed in my academies to a Family Nurse Practitioner, receiving my advanced degree from Prairie View A&M University. Later in my career, I obtained a Doctoral degree in Nursing Practice, while starting my business. I found there was a need for a healthcare provider to see patients in their homes and that people needed affordable holistic healthcare. My practice started off as solely a House call practice reach out to patients in the comfort of their own environment. I began my journey assisting new moms and families once they were discharged home from the hospital. I soon began to treat the whole family with affordable healthcare as a primary care provider in the homes. Now, our practice has grown to care for families and individual in multiple settings for a variety of medical services as a mobile provider with caring for patients in our office location.

Has it been a smooth road?
Starting my practice and career was definitely not smooth, or easy, but I had great support from husband and motivation from my three kids. It is not easy for a nurse practitioner to start their own medical practice for multiples reason. However, this is definitely where creativity, determination, and resilience comes into play.

Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
We are an integrative medical practice serving Houston and surrounding areas. We are known for provides quality, convenient and affordable healthcare in multiple setting, including but not limited to in the home and in our office. We provide healthcare for children all the way into adulthood, from treating minor illnesses to managing chronic conditions like pain, diabetes, and hypertension, We specialize in holistic care, treating the whole person, looking at nutrition and teaching patients how to care for their-selves in a natural way. What I’m most proud of as a company is the positive feeling patients have about the way they were treated and how they feel about themselves after we have met. I believe that sets us apart from other practices.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Houston is a great place for our integrative medical practice, this is our home. There is definitely a need for quality, affordable healthcare in the Houston area and we are welcomed by our communities because of the services we provide. Houston is a very large city and there is a lot of room for a business to grow and thrive, especially in healthcare. If someone was just starting out, I would recommend them to start by connecting with the people in the community and networking with other like-minded professionals or individuals to make a positive change where there is a need. By providing affordable and accessible healthcare in the Houston area, we can improve the health of the people living in this great city.
