Meet Jennifer Chidester of North Houston

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Chidester

Hi Jennifer, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I got my start in the event planning world by helping friends with their weddings and organizing church-themed luncheons. It began as a way to contribute to special occasions for the people I cared about, but the positive feedback and the joy of seeing those events come together sparked something deeper in me. Over time, I honed my skills in planning, coordinating, and creating memorable experiences. What started as small gatherings quickly expanded, as I took on larger events, learning the ins and outs of the industry, and refining my creativity and attention to detail.

Today after 20 years, I’ve built a reputation for curating personalized, high-quality events that resonate with people. I’ve gained experience with various types of celebrations and have worked with different venues, vendors, and client needs. Whether it’s a wedding, corporate event, or community gathering, I’m passionate about bringing visions to life and delivering moments that truly matter. My journey is far from over, and I’m excited to continue growing, taking on more challenging projects, and expanding my reach in the world of event planning.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road hasn’t always been smooth, but that’s part of what makes this journey so rewarding. Like many in the event planning industry, I faced my fair share of challenges. Early on with limited staff, I had to balance working with limited resources, managing unexpected hiccups, and figuring out how to juggle multiple tasks at once. There were moments when the pressure was overwhelming, especially when things didn’t go according to plan. But each obstacle taught me valuable lessons, whether it was about organization, problem-solving, or learning to stay calm under pressure.

One of the biggest struggles was building a reputation and getting my name out there. It takes time to establish trust with clients and vendors, and I had to put in a lot of hard work to prove myself. However, as I gained experience and built strong relationships, things started falling into place. Integrity is important to me and is now something I now pass on to my staff.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
As an event planner, my passion goes beyond organizing memorable events—I am deeply committed to using the skills God has given me to help faith-based organizations raise the necessary funds to continue doing their vital work. I specialize in curating events that bring people together for a cause, and I take pride in supporting organizations that are tackling issues such as human trafficking, providing prom experiences for individuals with special needs, and offering support for military veterans with PTSD.

Through events like golf tournaments, galas, date night marriage events, and casino nights, I work to raise funds for causes to help build marriages or help the homeless find food, ensuring that these organizations have the resources they need to make a lasting impact. My role is to use my expertise in event planning to give these organizations the opportunity to focus on what they do best—helping those in need—while I handle the details to create successful fundraising events that elevate their mission.

I’m truly proud of being able to contribute to such meaningful causes and bring together communities for something greater. It’s incredibly fulfilling to know that my work not only creates memorable experiences but also helps these faith-based organizations continue their incredible work, whether it’s bringing healing to those affected by human trafficking, offering support to veterans, weddings, building marriages, or helping people in need. God has blessed me with the opportunity to use my talents to make a difference, and I am thankful to be part of such impactful missions.

What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me is using the gifts God has given me to serve others and make a positive impact. My faith in Christ is the foundation of everything I do—whether it’s through event planning or supporting faith-based organizations, I strive to reflect His love and grace in all aspects of my work. I find great fulfillment in helping others, particularly those doing meaningful work to help people in need.

Equally important is my relationship with my family. They are my support system, my source of strength, and a constant reminder of what truly matters in life.

Ultimately, it’s about making a lasting, positive impact in the lives of others, whether that’s through the events I create, the causes I support, or the way I live out my faith and love for my family.
