Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Everson.
Jennifer, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I had recently moved to Houston and was trying to figure out what my next career adventure would be. I have been an engineer, business owner, professional bodybuilder, and personal trainer… and wasn’t quite sure what I wanted to pursue next. I believe life is to short to live the same day over and over. One of my strengths is connecting with people, so I wanted a career in which I could interact and help people on a daily basis. I came across Restore Cryotherapy in Sugar Land and was instantly intrigued.
When I tried Whole Body Cryotherapy for the first time, I knew that my life would forever be changed. During the interview, I was exposed to -240F for 2 and 1/2 minutes! WOW, now that’s an interview. After arriving home an hour later I went for a run with my sister, who is an exceptional runner. Mind you, I have run my whole life, but as I have aged, I prefer to run slower to avoid injury. We ran 6 miles in 55 minutes and I talked the whole time. I usually never talk when I run because I lose my breath.
After the run, she pointed this out to me. Not only did I talk while running, I ran a minute faster per mile than I normally run. Funny thing was, I felt fantastic, my legs fresh and my lungs free. From that moment on, I knew that cryotherapy was the ticket. Needless to say, I was very excited when I received an offer the very next day to Manage the Restore Cryotherapy located in Sugar Land, Texas.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Helping people with their overall wellness for those that walk through our doors has been a wonderful fulfilling part of my life. The struggle is getting those individuals through our door. Although cryotherapy and proactive wellness have been around for awhile, it is a relatively recent option for the masses. So spreading the word about Restore and all the services we provide is an ongoing process. Managing a store, where I administer services, and trying to go out in the community and spread the word is a balance I am constantly working on.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Restore Cryotherapy story. Tell us more about the business.
Restore Cryotherapy is a hyper wellness center that provides several services under one roof. The services we provide are Whole Body Cryotherapy, Localized Cryotherapy, CryoFacials, IV Drip Therapy, Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT), and Compression Therapy. Whatever an individual has going on in their daily lives, Restore can make life better. I am most proud of the fact that in any given day, we can help an athlete with performance and recovery, and then turn around and help a 67-year-old with arthritis experience pain relief. It truly is a rewarding job when you know all walks of life can benefit from the services your company provides.
I am often asked if I own the store, and I respond, “no, I just operate as if I do.” I take great pride in working for a company that believes in their employees and challenges them to be the best version of themselves. There are several cryotherapy shops and now iv drip shops popping up around Houston, but Restore is the only shop to offer all the services in a very welcoming and comfortable setting. We have a very knowledgeable and friendly staff that works diligently to put together the right packages to help clients meet their goals. The positive energy is our store is contagious.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
One of the motivational videos I like to watch says, ” Luck is the last dying wish of those who want to believe that winning can happen by accident. Sweat, on the other hand, is for those that know it’s a choice.”
I believe that we get out of life what we put in, it’s a simple law of physics (the engineer in me. lol). You never get an output greater than your input. So I give my all in every aspect of my life. If there have been setbacks or what others might call bad luck… I have always seen these instances to be snapshots of life lessons that I needed to learn at the time. I grew from them to be better.
I have been fortunate to meet people that have opened doors for me. These doors have allowed me to live and work overseas, bring happiness into the lives of others, and experience many wonderful adventures. Life is full of ups and downs, and I embrace and respect both. They create my story, and there is nothing boring about me because of them.
