Meet Jennifer Guajardo

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Guajardo.

Hi Jennifer, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
Sure, I started my journey as an art teacher in Cypress, Texas, where I taught for 12 years. Although I enjoyed teaching, my passion for wildlife and nature continued to grow, and I began taking steps to become a full-time wildlife artist.

I started by practicing and refining my skills, taking courses, and attending workshops to improve my technique. I then began exhibiting my art in local shows, galleries, and festivals and gradually built a following of fans who appreciated my realistic and detailed portrayals of animals and nature.

As my reputation grew, I began receiving requests for commissioned pieces and live painting events, where I would create artwork on the spot at special occasions and business events. Through these opportunities, I was able to connect with a wider audience, and my business began to flourish.

Today, I am proud to say that I have been able to turn my passion into a successful career as a wildlife artist. My art has been exhibited in various galleries, and I continue to receive commissions for my work. My goal is to inspire others to appreciate the beauty of our natural world and to encourage them to take action to preserve it for future generations.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road to get where I am today. One of the biggest struggles was trying to balance my teaching job with my passion for art. It was difficult to find the time and energy to fully devote myself to my art while also working a full-time job.

Another challenge was trying to establish myself as a wildlife artist in a competitive industry. There are many talented artists out there, and it can be difficult to stand out and attract clients. I had to work hard to improve my skills, build a following, and establish a reputation as an artist people could trust.

Lastly, there were financial challenges that came with starting a new business. Art supplies and materials can be expensive, and it was difficult to find the resources to invest in my craft. However, I persevered and found ways to make it work, and I am grateful for the support of my family and friends along the way.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a wildlife artist and specialize in creating realistic paintings of animals, insects, and nature using various mediums like acrylic, watercolor, oil pastels, mixed media, and 3D Pens. I am known for my attention to detail and my ability to bring my paintings to life, capturing the essence and beauty of the natural world.

I am most proud of the fact that I have been able to turn my passion for art and nature into a full-time career and have been able to share my love of wildlife and conservation through my artwork. What sets me apart from others is my unique perspective and style, as well as my commitment to using my art as a means of promoting conservation and environmental awareness.

What’s next?
My plans for the future include continuing to develop my skills as an artist and creating more artwork that promotes conservation and environmental awareness. I am also looking forward to collaborating with other artists and organizations that share my passion for wildlife and nature.

In terms of big changes, I am considering expanding my reach by participating in more art shows and exhibitions, as well as creating more commissioned pieces for businesses and individuals. Additionally, I am exploring the possibility of creating more multimedia works that incorporate technology and other elements into my artwork.

Overall, my focus is on continuing to grow as an artist and using my talents to make a positive impact on the world and promote a greater appreciation for the beauty and importance of the natural world.
