Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Rivas.
Jennifer, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My passion has always been in the makeup and art industry. I am a local artist and was a district makeup artist for a big makeup company. I decided to get trained and certified in permanent makeup in 2012 and I have never looked back since. I love and enjoy creating the perfect brows, eyeliner and lips for each and every client.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
About a year ago, I opened my own business Permanent Makeup by JAR. It’s been the greatest challenge and the best experience along the way. I love what I do and I love being creative, so this journey comes naturally for me.

The permanent Makeup industry has exploded with high demands for microblading brows in these past few years. I feel with my experience and my talent it’s easy for me to create the best natural looking brows for each client. Permanent makeup is more than a trend it’s a procedure that can change the way people feel about themselves. It’s a process that takes a lot of patience and a steady hand.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Just always looking for a way to extend my talent with art. I remember putting makeup on my brothers when we were little and sitting for hours watching my mom put makeup on her face. I was always interested in makeup from as young, as I can remember.
