Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Royo.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Jennifer. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My husband, Brian was a home brewer. We were sitting down at our kitchen table trying his homebrew, Ridgeback Amber with our in-laws. We really enjoyed the beer and thought it would be great to start a brewery in Katy. At the time, in the Houston area, there was only 2 other breweries. No breweries were in the west side of town. We found a location in rice silos with warehouses next to it. We worked on cleaning the place up and starting hosting tours and tastings. We started out with about 10 people coming out to try our delicious beer. No we have over 500 people each Saturday that visit us. We’re now open 7 days a week and love calling Katy home.
Has it been a smooth road?
It’s been a bumpy ride. A lot of long hours, waiting on permits, struggles to make it. We’re happy with where we are at and look forward to what the future holds.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the No Label Brewing Co. story. Tell us more about the business.
We are a very dog and kid friendly brewery. Located in Katy, we have a lot of families that visit our brewery. Our atmosphere at the brewery and our grassroots mentality separates us from many other breweries. We made a very popular barrel-aged beer, Perpetual Peace. Our seasonal beers and our El Hefe have become very popular as well.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
The biggest shift we see is the move to brewpub. We are currently a microbrewery but are working on switching to brewpub. We will continue to sell beer in the market but we will be able to sell beer to go at our brewery instead of consumption on premise only.
