Meet Jennifer Vossler of JMV Photography

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Vossler.

Hi Jennifer, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My journey with photography began in 2006, during a season of new beginnings as I welcomed my son into the world and received my first Canon PowerShot camera. Over the years, I started photographing his sports teams and sharing the images with other parents, often burning them onto CDs after games and events.

What began as a way to capture memories for family and friends gradually grew into something much bigger. Today, I continue photographing local junior high and high school sports, as well as my daughter’s softball team, while expanding into custom photography and creative services for my community.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. Like many small business owners and creatives, balancing photography with family life, work, and everyday responsibilities has been one of the biggest challenges. There were also many seasons where I questioned whether I should turn my passion into a business or keep it as a hobby.

Another challenge has been learning the business side of photography-pricing, marketing, editing workflows, and building confidence in my work. Over time, though, those challenges helped me grow, and each experience pushed me to improve both creatively and professionally.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about JMV Photography?
My business is centered around capturing meaningful moments and creating custom designs that help people celebrate life’s special occasions. I specialize in sports photography, senior portraits, team photography, and custom creative designs such as invitations, announcements, and promotional materials.

What sets me apart is my relentless attention to detail and my focus on solving client needs through storytelling. Whether it’s capturing the emotion of a big game, celebrating a senior milestone, or creating a custom design for a special event, I want every image and project to tell a story and preserve a moment in a meaningful way.

I’m especially proud that my brand has grown organically through community support, repeat clients, and word of mouth. What started as photographing my own children’s activities has evolved into serving local schools, athletes, families, and small businesses in a meaningful way.

More than anything, I want people to know that I put care and intention into every session and project because I understand how important these memories and moments are to the people I serve.

Any big plans?
Looking ahead, I’m excited to continue growing both the photography and creative design sides of my business. I plan to expand my work with schools, sports teams, seniors, and local families while continuing to refine the overall client experience.

I’m also looking forward to taking on more custom creative projects and finding new ways to tell meaningful stories through both photography and design. As my business grows, my goal is to continue building a brand known for quality, creativity, and attention to detail while staying connected to the community that has supported me from the beginning.
