Meet Jessica Cortez of Beautifully Bronzed in River Oaks

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Cortez.

For as long as she can remember, Beautifully Bronzed founder, Jessica, has loved skincare and makeup. That love inspired her to turn her passion into a career, leading her to attend cosmetology school and become a certified esthetician. While refining her trade in the beauty industry, Jessica saw the need and desire for a quality spray tan service to cater to Houston’s elite. This realization coupled with her commitment to leading a healthy lifestyle and providing her clients with only the best service, led to the creation of Beautifully Bronzed.

Jessica has expertise in special event makeup and 100% organic, vegan, gluten and paraben-free spray tanning solutions. With a background in esthetician studies and an eye for natural beauty, she has experience working with skin of all ages, tones, types and limitations.

Above all, Jessica is devoted to working with her diverse list of clients, including such celebrities as Lady Gaga, to help each of them achieve the perfect tan.

Jessica is from Houston and when she’s not with her clients, she’s spending time with her family. She loves the spray tanning industry, but you can also find her keeping up with latest fashion trends, maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle and learning about the best and latest skincare regimens.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Starting this journey off slowly has led to many bumps along the way that have all turned into learning experiences. Beautifully Bronzed started off in the comfort of my home, in my bathroom, to be exact. Learning exact ways to spray tan each person, based on their needs, skin type, body, and event was my goal. Trial and error went in to finding the perfect solution and retail line that would tie in everything I was looking for. Something that was organic, clean scent, the absolute best color range, and a retail line that would complement all together.

Beautifully Bronzed – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Beautifully Bronzed began as an idea. The idea was to combine my two passions, skincare and makeup, and to allow me to spend more time with my son. When Beautifully Bronzed started growing, it made perfect sense to be mobile; it allowed me to create my own schedule and provide a personal, one-of-a-kind experience for my VIC’s, “Very Important Clients.”

After attending cosmetology school and refining my skills in the industry, I began to learn more about tanning and alternative beauty solutions. Discovering spray tanning and the benefits of providing organic options convinced me to make the conscientious decision to provide this to all of my clients. I firmly believe in living a healthy lifestyle, so I made health a part of the Beautifully Bronzed philosophy. At Beautifully Bronzed, I only use 100% organic, vegan, gluten, paraben and animal cruelty-free products.

One of the perks of Beautifully Bronzed is getting to practice my two passions every day. I love being a part of the “get ready” process and seeing the transformation of each of my clients. Whether it’s getting bronzed, getting glammed or improving their skincare regime.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
I have had many very proud moments with Beautifully Bronzed that make my love for my work that much more rewarding. Being chosen to spray tan Lady Gaga while in Houston for the Super Bowl is definitely a shining moment that I will never forget! I felt like my hard work and dedication was being recognized and I was proud of where Beautifully Bronzed was heading.
