Today we’d like to introduce you to Jim Donnelly.
Jim, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
We were training for triathlons and were getting pretty beat up. We tried cryotherapy and it produced amazing results for our training and any other pain issues. But we realized that the companies providing cryotherapy weren’t providing the best customer experience. Cryo was way too expensive and the locations weren’t particularly nice. So, we made it our mission to make cryotherapy as affordable and accessible as possible. As we were adding locations with this mission in mind, we realized that cryotherapy was only part of the solution. So, we starting adding other types of therapies (i.e. IV Therapy, hyperbaric therapy, compression therapy, etc.). These therapies required medical supervision so we created a medical infrastructure to support our business. Now cryotherapy is only a portion of our business. We will continue to add locations in Houston and around the country as we continue to make wellness more affordable and accessible.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been a relatively smooth road, but involved an incredible amount of work. We have an amazing team, very supportive investors, and very loyal customers. We are just scratching the surface and will be coast to coast by the end of 2018.
Please tell us about Restore Cryotherapy.
Restore is reimagining the Wellness space for consumers. We provide IV therapy, cryotherapy, compression therapy, hyperbaric therapy, infrared sauna therapy and more to come. We are disrupting the current market and making several modalities much more affordable and accessible. We fundamentally believe that wellness should be available for everyone (not just the wealthy). We are most proud of the number of people we have helped and the number of people we have introduced to a whole new approach to wellness. We have an unbelievable staff, convenient / attractive locations, and a pricing structure that makes previously unattainable treatments much more accessible.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Driving across the country multiple times a year with my family in a propane powered Jeep Wagoneer. We would always visit my grandparents in South Carolina for Christmas and made the trip from California, Kentucky, Indiana, Kansas, and Georgia. Sometimes we did it straight through, other times we made some stops along the way. But we always had a good time.
