Meet Jimmy Janes of Jimmy Janes Team in Memorial & Galveston

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jimmy Janes.

Jimmy, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I first received my Real Estate License in 2007. In my first 8 months/year in I was awarded Rookie of the Year at Coldwell Banker United, Bellaire. I stayed with Coldwell Banker for a little over a year before joining Suzanne Anderson Properties. I liked the local vibe and the company was a pioneer in the inner-city market. It was a great choice, being centrally located allowed me to be flexible easy to work many areas of the Houston Area.

I figured out quickly that my background in construction would come in handy. Within my 2nd year of Real Estate I was working with builders and developers. In 2010, I took on 12 investors and created a small private group flipping houses, by doing this my production numbers started to climb and I started getting recognized by the Houston Association of Realtor and Houston Business Journal. In 2012, I was recognized as a Top 40 Under 40 years of age. For me it was a very humbling experience to be recognized as I wasn’t trying to win awards; I was trying to stay afloat and do the best job I could for each client. In 2013, I hired a very close friend that had one time mentored me in investing and construction. The day Ron Snodgrass came on board the Jimmy Janes Team was born. We quickly grew! Together we were able to gain 10 times the exposure I could on my own. We eventually hired on several other Buyer’s agents and Admins to help with the growing demand.

In 2017 the Jimmy Janes Team grew again! This time to the Galveston market. Ron, now the Team Manager lived in Galveston for years and has such great passion for the history and early 1900’s architecture. Together we have now opened a new office on the Strand and we’re looking to add several new people to the Team.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Market crash in 2008 then hurricane Ike in 2009 was like a double wammy, The city and Real Estate market took a while to recover from the two tragic situations.
