Today we’d like to introduce you to Jocelyn Salazar
Hi Jocelyn , please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
began my journey in the luxury industry at 18, selling high-end fragrance and skincare to pay my way through college. I initially pursued a degree in Music, earning a degree in the Arts, but I continued working in retail and later decided to return to business school for Management. This led me to a full-time role with a luxury Italian perfumer, where I eventually became the Regional Sales Manager for the U.S.
With my experience and passion, I decided to take a leap and launch my own haircare brand. I’ve always received compliments on the health and strength of my hair, which inspired me to create a product that both men and women can benefit from. I’m currently in production and thrilled to announce that my luxury haircare line will officially launch by December 2025! I couldn’t be more excited for what’s ahead.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
One of my biggest struggles was being financially responsible for 100% of my education while working full-time. Another challenge was starting my own business without knowing where to begin—but I figured it out. Funding my business was another hurdle, requiring both time and patience. When you truly want something, it all comes down to perseverance.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I worked my way up the corporate ladder, starting as a Brand Ambassador, freelancer, and vendor. Thanks to my performance and being the top salesperson across the U.S., I was offered multiple opportunities within corporate. Today, I serve as a Regional Sales Manager in the U.S. for Tiziana Terenzi, a prestigious third-generation Italian luxury brand known for its exquisite fragrances for men and women. While Tiziana Terenzi is widely recognized in Europe, in the U.S., it is available exclusively at Neiman Marcus.
This position, along with my education and industry experience, has equipped me with the knowledge and expertise to launch my own business: Joss Hair Care—a luxury haircare line designed to promote healthy, strong hair while delivering a sensory experience. My mission is to make hair care more than just a routine; I want it to be a moment of self-care and indulgence. My products are all about helping people fall in love with themselves again, offering nourishment, beauty, and confidence. Because at the end of the day, we all want to look good and feel even better.
What makes you happy?
Several things bring me happiness. First and foremost, my family and friends—they encourage and inspire me to follow my dreams. On a daily basis, simple joys like my morning cup of London Fog with almond milk make me smile. My long, healthy hair is also something that makes me happy; for me, it’s more than just hair—it’s a conversation starter. Everywhere I go, people ask me about it, wanting to know my secrets for maintaining its length and health. That’s why my hair is such a big deal to me. Even before launching my product, I’ve already built a community of customers and friends who trust my expertise, which is an incredibly rewarding feeling.
