Meet Jody Angel of Angel Chiropractic

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jody Angel.

Jody Angel

Hi Jody, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My journey to a chiropractor started as a patient. I was suffering with chronic neck and upper back pain as well as headaches due to a stressful desk job. Chiropractic care helped me so much I fell in love with it. My undergrad degree is in Biology from the University of Houston (Go Coogs!), so I was halfway there when I decided to return to school. I completed my Doctor of Chiropractic at Texas Chiropractic College in 2019. I now have my own practice, Angel Chiropractic!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Certainly not! A few months after graduating, I had a rotator cuff injury that put me out of work for a 2 months. Once I was feeling better, I started a mobile chiropractic business. Just as things started taking off, the pandemic in 2020 started and brought everything to a halt. That led to starting a practice with a brick-and-mortar location. After moving twice, I have found my new home in Spring Branch where I have been for the past year and a half! Each challenge taught me resilience and flexibility.

We’ve been impressed with Angel Chiropractic, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am a musculoskeletal specialist! Which means I can treat any muscle and joint in the body, including extremities and even the jaw. A few of my subspecialties include treating TMJD (jaw pain and dysfunction) and pregnancy. I believe what sets me apart from other chiropractors is the versatility in my treatment options and my approach. I offer various soft tissue modalities such as cupping, dry needling, myofascial release, and tools like Graston/FAKTR. These are fancy names for different approaches to relieving muscle and ligament problems. I also spend longer with my patients to get to know their overall health (sleep, nutrition, exercise, stress, hobbies) and find the root of their problem, rather than constantly treating their symptoms. I am most proud of the feedback I get from patients that I validate their concerns and they trust me. There is no greater compliment as a provider.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out.
Keep your overhead and expenses as low as possible. Just because you have the funds doesn’t mean you should spend them.

Pricing:

  • New Patient visit – $150
