Today we’d like to introduce you to John Abramson.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I was basically born into the construction business, when a was a child my father built most of my childhood homes, (love working with wood) After working in many different fields of construction. In March of 2003, I decided to start my own woodworking business, this business was basically myself and the tools that could fit in back of my pick-up truck. I soon moved into my first small shop on 25th and Mechanic St. and hired my first employee, and was able to start buying some pieces of large equipment. That was until Sep 30th 2005 when hurricane Rita made landfall, and tore the roof off of my shop, I was forced to move into a different shop this was at 4510 Ave. S. I continued to grow my business at this location until we outgrew this location, that is when we moved into the shop at 1327 Ave. L. I believe that we were at this location for about a year and six months when on Sep.13 2008 hurricane Ike hit us. This event was the most difficult event that I have ever had to deal with. I believe that my business has survived the worse, we are now in a great location, with a large working area and many machines to complete any project, I am looking to the future, I believe in Galveston and have no plans on going anywhere. I want to grow with this city.
