Today we’d like to introduce you to Johnedra Walls.
Hi Johnedra, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
In 1999, I graduated as a medical assistant from the Texas School of Business. During my externship, I fell in love with the art of phlebotomy and started my career search as a phlebotomist. During my career path, I have had the privilege and honor to meet some wonderful people, gain knowledge and experience several career advances from s lead collector, phlebotomy trainer and manager, territorial operational manager, public health investigator and currently phlebotomy instructor and Refugee Outreach Supervisor. Now I take my experience to help train others to become a well-trained successful phlebotomists.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, it hasn’t. I was a struggling single mother of 3. Trying to be a full-time mother and a full-time student most definitely had some challenges. Several times throughout the course, I remembered I was doing it all for them. I named the school after them. I-Ishmael D-Destiny C-Corinthian in which who have been my constant motivation and reason for me to keep pushing forward.

I love the different cultures, different sceneries, and opportunities. I hate the traffic and the fact that I’m 43 but they’ve been working on 290 since I’ve been 4 or 3, lol.
