Starting 10 years ago having been laid off from my first 2 jobs I knew there was something wrong with having my future in someone else’s hands. Don’t get me wrong, there is absolutely nothing bad about working within a bigger organization and contributing to one area of tasks and building something big. BUT, I always couldn’t help to think about how far can I really go. Everything I do there was always that inner voice in my head whispering to me telling me that I need to literally “build” something of my own. But back then I had no idea how to begin and obviously don’t have any skills besides knowing how to use a calculator and type very fast on a keyboard.

After stumbling through many YouTube ads about “how to become successful” and watching a few videos about how others achieved greatness, I knew I WANT MY OWN SUCCESS. One good advice lead to another. One book lead to another. One dollar spent on “entrepreneur mindset” courses lead to another. It is like a building block and you literally lay down one brick at a time. Fast forward a few years, I spend over $10,000 to $20,000 a year on seminars and courses teaching you how to acquire specialized skills including how to draw more traffic to websites and how to market products through the internet using search engines and social media. Now, I am able to offer my skills that I spent over thousands of hours working and testing to other hungry driven business owners who want the same thing.

The good thing about consistently working hard, putting in the hours when my friends are out partying or chatting in group chats online when they should be working, and using that extra 20minutes or hr. a day to listen to audiobooks about learning other useful things is that it doesn’t just become a habit, it becomes… you.

Now that “you” or I, if one day that I don’t learn something new and then put it to use, I feel weird and I can’t sleep. One day if I don’t sell anything and CLOSE any deals, I feel angry. Looking back 10 years ago, I wouldn’t have done anything different. If I wasn’t laid off or fired, I wouldn’t be where I am today. Today, even though I think I am only about 5% of where I want to be, I still would like to thank those who had fired me and told me that I wasn’t good enough for them. Because, I wasn’t. Having failed at many things and many goals will lead you to your destiny. One advice to anyone out there, if it doesn’t feel right, don’t be afraid to change directions right away. Oh, and always seek to be around those who support you. AND, never listen to anyone who is not an expert at the topic of your conversation.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been many many detours and potholes. Sometimes you get a little encouragement because you might get a free bus ride. But the key is, always realize that those good bus rides were never free. There is a reason why you were able to get on that good bus ride. And your job is to figure out how it became.

SOCIAL SKILLS. You can learn technical skills in a closet. You can learn typing skills in a 4feet by 4 feet dark room. But if you do not get your butt out there and learn how to get along with people, you won’t be able to sell anything or close any deals.
