Joshua, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
My father has owned his detail shop for over 30 years. I remember when I was 8 or 9 years old. I would go everyday after school and my father would put me and my brother to help. I didn’t like it at the time, but what nine years old would? He always told me everything I’m teaching, you will help you to survive and make a living in the future.
Here I am 25 years old and sure enough, everything he showed me, the skills he gave me, have gotten me out of a lot of struggles. I found myself unemployed and unable to find work when I decided to start a carwash. It was actually a random Idea. I thought I have the knowledge and the support to get this started and well here we are two years later. I can say we have been blessed by God.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It’s never a smooth road when you start a new business. There’s always going to be struggles, from permits to hiring the right people. I can honestly say the biggest struggle for us up until now, has been Covid19. Small businesses like Jags are being impacted financially everyday. We’ve had to make changes, and those changes have not only affected us, but also our employees.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about JAG’s Carwash & Detail – what should we know?
We are a carwash & detail shop. We offer everything from a basic wash to a full detail. Our services include motor washing, speed wax, cherry wax, carnauba wax, interior shampoo, car buffing, disinfecting, vacuuming, etc.
What are we most proud of? We are proud to be able to offer quality service to our customers for less.
What sets us apart? Our customer service! We treat our customers like we’ve known them for years. We make them feel at home.

My mom Rosemary DeLaVega, who has supported me since day one and our employees, past and present. They’ve all been part of our success.
