Thanks for sharing your story with us Juanita. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I have always wanted to start a fashion business for a few years now. I never found the time or determination to just do it. I have a certification known has TCOLE to be a police officer anywhere in the state of Texas. I turned in an application for a department on a Thursday and received a rejection letter that following Tuesday. It takes mail at least two days for it to travel through Houston. I was so disappointed because police officer applications are always thirty plus pages long.
There is a lot of information and time put into it. I knew that this particular department never read anything on my application. I sat there staring at the letter and told myself I can’t do this anymore. I have to take a chance to do more for my family. So, I called my husband and told him that I was starting a fashion business. We started brainstorming names and decided to combine our three children names. From that moment Kenzelle was created.
Has it been a smooth road?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. I don’t think anything in life will ever just be smooth. It kind of takes the fun out of it if it is too easy. lol, I think the biggest struggle for me is an advertisement. I have reached out to several different avenues to get Kenzelle out to the world. Some of the prices are extremely expensive. For now, I will just do the legwork to get Kenzelle known locally. When the time is right, the world will know Kenzelle.

Kenzelle caters to women and men of all sizes. We sell clothing, shoes, and accessories.
We are currently only operating online. We hope to open a storefront in the near future. I think our name alone sets us apart from others. Kenzelle is a unique name that represents the most important people I hold dear to my heart. I definitely believe our customer service and ability to cater to multiple audiences with chic and modern styles at affordable prices, sets Kenzelle apart from others.
I am most proud of the response we have gotten has a brand new company. It feels great to get noticed and get ideas from buyers and potential buyers. Ultimately, Kenzelle wants to offer the best experience ever with our brand.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I absolutely believe Houston is an excellent place to start a fashion business. It is the largest city in the state of Texas. There are so many different styles and cultures, that anyone can start a business here and be successful if they put in the time and effort. I would definitely recommend anyone starting a business to start in Houston. There will always be someone who can relate to whatever your vision is for your brand. Houston is the city where dreams can come true.
