Today we’d like to introduce you to Kamil and Mavia Patel.
Kamil and Mavia, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Our journey to where we are today started about a year ago. I was in college studying Finance & trying to get my foot in the door with a top commercial real estate company, and Mavia just started cutting hair fresh out of early graduation from high school. We both had our respective lanes, but we both knew that we wanted to start a business together.
This led to us brainstorming ideas and one of the easiest businesses for young businessmen like us to get into was pressure washing. Mavia mentioned to me that he had a commercial grade pressure washer handed down through his dad and that with a few repairs and adjustments, we could be in business, at that moment HTX Pressure Washing was born.
Today we are a two man team. Mavia handles much of the technical and hands-on work, and he teaches me a lot of things along the way. He is especially valuable because he has a ton of experience working with his dad in the past. My role in the company is handling the financial, sales and marketing side of things. I try to focus on social media marketing and make it a point to show our customers what we do and how we do it.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
In the short period of time we have been in business, we actually feel like we have done pretty good and know where we need to improve. Some struggles along the way is the learning curve when it comes to marketing our services as effectively as someone who has skin in the game for over 20 years.
However, we progress everyday and are confident in our abilities to get it done.

HTX Pressure Washing is your go to home services company. We specialize in exterior cleaning for homes, building, parking lots, truck fleets and basically any other structure you can think of. We use our professional commercial grade equipment and years of experience to properly handle your specific cleaning needs.
We are known for knowing when to use which cleaning method, working with machines that have the ability to rip through a car or a small house can get dangerous quickly.
We also handle parking lot striping and lawn care services. Anything you need done for your business or home, you can rely on us to get it done professionally.
I am most proud of this company because its the first business we started together as a partnership. I’m 22 and Mavia is 19, we feel that we can only get better with time and experience. Despite being younger than most owners, and less experienced, we were able to do well in a short period of time. We even got booked and recognized by our friend and legend, Z-Ro, who is known as one of the best artists in Houston.
What sets us apart from others is that we have two very specialized skill sets whereas most of these other companies are a one man show with very little thought in marketing and social media. I feel like with Mavia’s experience working with motors, cars, pressure washing equipment, etc., and my experience in sales, business and finance, we are able to do a lot more than someone else that runs as a one man operation handling all the workload.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was a pretty shy and quiet kid (I’m sure my family will disagree with this), but I was always into sports as long as I can remember. I was also pretty competitive and loved to just hang out with my cousins and friends playing video games or riding bikes through the neighborhood.
