As a professional hairdresser bringing 30+ years of hair color I identified the need to pair a high-quality salon-grade customizable product delivered by professional hairdressers/colorists in a unique way by providing a personal consultation with a Della Ricca Hair Hero, making it possible for color customization with the same level of expertise one would receive sitting in a salon. She pioneered a single use of tiny tubes in varying amounts, to deliver fresh, unoxidized salon color for home use. She also developed the DELLA RICCA COLORSCIPTION process to ensure a safe and precise method to achieve consistent results, ensuring fearless hair color at home.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been along road! 1st, finding an Italian Color Manufacturer to work with me using tiny tubes was my first challenge. After a year of testing I now use seven core shades that when mixed in varying amounts we can create over 500 custom shades. Recent challenges are communicating to consumers to visit Della Ricca partner salons for home hair color! Who would have thought. Introducing a new business concept to salons. When salons help everyone their salon grows!

I’m proud of the fact that I was the first Board Certified Hair Colorist in Texas in 1997!
When I founded Della Ricca I wanted to help those who use box hair color upgrade to a professional color. Plus include the hairdresser to earn from a new revenue stream.
What sets us apart is all first orders require a consultation with a Hair Hero. Once we have looked and analyzed your “Hair Story” we prescribe three things.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Retiring as hairdresser to focus on Della Ricca and watching other hairdressers who would like go their business helping others save time and money. I do believe more is yet to come.
