Today we’d like to introduce you to Kat Frame.
So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My story. I truly don’t know where to start. I first off want to say the way my life is isn’t how I expect it to be. I never thought I would be an entrepreneur or a freelance model but most importantly, I didn’t think I would be a mom. I gave birth to my beautiful daughter in 2017. In the process of raising my daughter, I battled many demons including PPD. I was a stay at home mom struggling to find a way to not go into the dark place. That being said, I opened Katz Sweets & Goodies an in-home cottage law bakery. I specialize in making custom cakes for any occasion at a reasonable price. Not long after the business took off, I had a modeling gig fall in my lap. I wasn’t going to take it because I am a mom, but something awoke inside of me. I took the gig and it was like a newfound passion had awakened. I modeled for multiple talent photographers, but when I met Allen Baytes my career as a model took off. I gained a lot more confidence so much, in fact, I was entered into the maxim magazine contest which I was in the quarter-finals beating out at least 30,000 other models. My life isn’t how I planned at all. Yet I wouldn’t trade being a business owner, model, most importantly, mother showing her daughter she can do anything she sets her heart to just like I am.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I’m sitting here trying to figure out how to word this. I have my demons and my flaws. I’ve suffered from anxiety, depression and PPD. My past hasn’t been the best either. My demons, they haunt me. I mentioned flaws not a lot of people know I struggle with a twisted spine and it used to be my biggest fear and setback. Now I’ve come to the term that it won’t set me back unless I decide it will.
Katz Modeling / Katz sweets & Goodies – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
My business is Katz sweets & Goodies. When I am not modeling, I make gorgeous custom cakes for all kinds of occasions. I am known for my fair prices and giving my all in each cake I make. I love making cakes it’s my escape sometimes. I think what makes me different than others in both fields. I am a very creative person which help me out in both fields.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
My proudest moment in my cake business is building my first wedding cake. It was so amazing and I loved doing it. Was the hardest most time-consuming thing I have ever done.
My modeling career I think getting as far as I have with maxim magazine contest is one of my proudest moments but also gaining the confidence and strength I have is also pretty amazing.
