Today we’d like to introduce you to Katie Chaput and Diane Lisi.
Their story began when Katie moved half way across the country for her husband’s job. Diane living in California and Katie in Texas, they wanted to stay in touch and decided to Skype every Monday. Diane knew Katie had been making a homemade facial wash and always loved how her skin looked. When they got done chatting about what was going on in their lives, Katie & Diane decided to be creative and make other skin care products. One thing led to another and after a couple months, they had created an all-natural line of skin care products made with oils, essential oils, and butters. Since their collaboration was very special to each of them, Katie & Diane (aka “DeeDee”) decided to combine their names and call the business Kadee Beauty. They signed up for their first market in Houston in December of 2014 and have been moving forward with Kadee Beauty ever since. Katie & Diane have recently decided to re-design their line with a new look and will be re-launching in early 2018.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
With Diane living in California & Katie in Texas, the road to creating Kadee Beauty was not always easy. Because they created their line of all-natural skin care products over Skype, they each had to make the product they were testing out. Katie & Diane couldn’t always determine if they were getting the same texture, smell, and consistency since they weren’t doing it in person so quite frequently had to ship what they made to one another to see if they were the same. This obstacle in the road did not stop them. Katie & Diane kept moving forward using the feedback they received from customers to create better and better skin care products that consisted of simple, known, natural ingredients that were good for the consumer and the environment.
Please tell us about Kadee Beauty.
At Kadee Beauty we use only ingredients that are alive, nutritive, healing, and soothing for your skin. Our recipes are designed for your specific skin type as we want to use the right oils and essential oils that will combat any abnormalities and rebalance your skin. By working with the natural mechanics of your skin, we can easily bring back your natural glow instead of you having to deal with continuous skin issues due to imbalances.
By using oil to clean your face with our oil-based facial wash, you will swap out the bad oils for good oils and remove all residue from the pores. Our facial toner is filled with ingredients that will boost the immunity of the skin so it does not get “sick”. The facial serum can be used afterwards as a needed moisturizer and the lip balm will prevent damaging effects from the sun as well as keep your lips looking hydrated and moisturized. Lastly, the body oil will provide a protective layer from any damaging effects of the environment as well as rejuvenate the skin cells.
As you continue using these products, you will begin to see a glow to your skin as it rebalances itself and reflects once again your natural inner radiance that is your true beauty. Seeing men & women feel their natural radiance through their glowing skin is what Katie & Diane are most proud of about Kadee Beauty. They want to continue to see more people find their radiance so they too can feel the power of their own inner beauty.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Katie & Diane would have kept things more simple. They learned through experience there are easy and cost-effective ways to package, brand and display your products. In the beginning, they got excited and went a little overboard on purchasing cute boxes, decorations, shipping materials etc. and know now it wasn’t necessary and actually pulled the customers attention towards the designs instead of the actual products. They are applying the lessons learned for their relaunch in early 2018 and are looking forward to having a more simple method for getting their all-natural skin care line out to the world.
