Today we’d like to introduce you to Katie Davis.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Katie. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My journey to where I am today if very complicated and difficult to explain, but I wouldn’t trade it for the world. Part way through my college program, I became pregnant and decided to no longer pursue a degree. Thankfully, I had an extremely supportive family around me, including my fiancé David who stepped up and became the best dad ever. My father was in the middle of creating his own real estate investment business and asked my advice on promoting his company with social media. I had always loved sharing my life on social media. I enjoy creating content about motherhood, make up and wedding planning! Seeing this, my dad asked me to become his social media manager and I was thrilled about this opportunity. Although we have just started Real Wealth Academy, I already feel extremely fulfilled by helping my family succeed and learning so much about social media marketing.
Has it been a smooth road?
It has certainly not been a smooth road to get where I am today. Although I never struggled academically through college, I did fight a hard battle against anxiety and depression. After overcoming this, it helped me realize the value that family holds, and how having a great support system can essentially save your life. Our family has also faced struggles before starting our business, Real Wealth Academy. Unfortunately, my dad faced many legal battles prior to opening his educational company and that took both a financial and emotional toll on all of us. Now that RWA has begun and is already seeing so much support in the community, we feel excited and eager to continue growing in Houston and other places!
Please tell us about your work.
Real Wealth Academy is an educational program that teaches people how to invest in real estate and lead a more prosperous, balanced like. I’m most proud of the fact that my entire family, including my mom, brother and fiancé, have all worked so hard to help this company succeed. We have huge plans for 2020 and beyond! We are different from other companies because we focus on helping others above all else.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I absolutely love Houston! The food, culture and nightlife are all incredible. What I love most about Houston, however, is that it is where my family lives. We have created an awesome life for ourselves here and I wouldn’t change it for the world!
