Meet Kayla Clark and Chelsea Edison of Houston and Beyond

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kayla Clark and Chelsea Edison of Houston.

Hi Kayla and Chelsea, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Our journey really began with a shared passion for creating memorable experiences. Ever since we were young, both Kayla and I naturally gravitated toward celebrations, birthdays, holidays, family milestones, you name it. We found so much joy in bringing people together and making those moments feel truly special.

Chelsea: Planning and hosting events started as something I did for fun for my family, my friends, and even myself. Over time, people began to take notice and started asking for my help with their own events. They kept encouraging me to turn that passion into something more.

Kayla: My inspiration and passion for celebrations came from my upbringing. Growing up, my parents made every occasion feel special, whether it was a holiday, birthday, or personal accomplishment; they always found a reason to be intentional and celebrate. Our home is the go-to spot for everything, and I was naturally drawn to the decorating and planning side of it all.

By 2022, after years of casually helping others and realizing just how aligned our experiences and passions were, we decided to make it official. That’s when A Series of Events By: KC was born. What started as a creative outlet between two close friends has grown into a thriving event planning and décor business, one that lets us do what we love while helping others celebrate life’s most meaningful moments.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Starting a business is a challenge in itself. From figuring out where to begin to balancing full-time jobs, family responsibilities, and building a brand, and being everything for your business in the beginning. It’s been a journey of constant learning and growth. We’ve had to stay consistent, even when progress felt slow or invisible.

There have been moments of feeling overwhelmed, but each obstacle has taught us resilience, time management, and the importance of giving ourselves grace. We’ve learned to adjust and trust the process, knowing that even small steps are still steps forward.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
A Series of Events By: KC, is a luxury event planning and décor business. We love creating unforgettable experiences that are elegant and intentional. From birthdays and bridal showers to baby showers, proposals, weddings, and corporate events, we take pride in bringing our clients’ visions to life.

What truly sets us apart is the personal touch we bring to every event. One of our favorite parts of the process is seeing our clients’ reactions when they walk into the space we’ve created. We take pride in the details from the consultation to execution. We don’t just plan, we craft experiences that reflect each client’s unique story and personality by being intentional about every element, and making sure our clients feel seen, valued, and celebrated. For us, it’s not just about décor; it’s about making our clients’ dreams come true and building those long-lasting relationships.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
Chelsea: One of my most cherished memories is spending time with my grandmothers. They always made me feel safe, seen, and loved in their own unique ways. My late paternal grandmother, who I lovingly called Granny, had a beautiful way of creating joyful memories for her grandchildren, from organizing family trips to simply showing up for every milestone. She found so much happiness in our smiles, and that’s something that influenced my love for family, togetherness, and creating happy moments.

Kayla: For me, some of my favorite memories are the summers I spent with my Paw Paw in New Orleans. My entire life, he has always showered me with love, attention, and kindness. He made sure I felt cared for and valued, and those summers are a big part of why I approach life with warmth and thoughtfulness. That same care is what I try to bring into every event we design, making people feel special and celebrated, just like he makes me feel.
