Kayla, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My name is Kayla Fadojutimi and I am 22 years of age. I am the owner of The Lash Dome Houston, where “fluff happens.” I started my lash career in December of 2018. It was not all peaches and cream, as I like to say. I initially thought the start of my business would be easy and that it would take off pretty quickly. I soon realized that not only was running a business one of the hardest things I would do but that I had to step up my game. There were so many critics in the beginning, and there still is, but that gives me the energy to fuel my business and get up and keep going each day. Executing the plan has always been something I strive to do in everything I set my mind to. There have been many ups and downs in my business, but I will always push through. My biggest motivation is my lovely grandmother. I never would’ve thought that I would find something that I love to do. I have seen so much growth within myself and my work. I can’t help but be proud and excited to show you guys what I have in store.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has definitely been a bumpy road from doubting myself to wondering if I should quit. There have been times that I have wanted to give up, but I continuously ask myself, why would I give up now, when I have come this far?
Please tell us about your business.
The name of my business is The Lash Dome. We specialize in Classic, Hybrid & Volume Natural to Dramatic Eyelash Extensions. I am known for my Wispy Lash Sets and my signature Hybrid sets, which have become very popular. I am most proud of my clientele growth over the past two years. What sets me apart from others is my awesome customer service and my genuine love and passion for what I do.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
The quality that I feel is the most important to succeed is ambition. If I did not have ambition, I would’ve never gotten this far.
