Today we’d like to introduce you to Kee Johnson.
Kee, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I remember doing hair as young as elementary school. I’d do my sister’s hair. Then growing up, it just became a thing for me. I realized it was apart of my passion as the years went on. I’ve done hair in many states, stages, and shows.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has not always been easy but it has allotted for a lot of great experiences, oh and fun. I was a military “brat” then a military spouse. I moved a lot. So I constantly had to start over. I didn’t always work full time as a hairstylist because of the moving aspect and building clientele. This time around-in Houston has been the easiest.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Salon Loft 533 – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
So I am a textured hair focused salon. I work with any hair type. I also install extensions and some braids. I’ve worked with hair loss victims by creating units. I have a passion for working with young girls and helping to build/maintain their self-esteem. I offer one on one classes teaching my natural ladies on techniques for their individual head of hair or working with their children’s hair.
I also offer scalp analysis where we look at the condition of the scalp. I offer high-frequency treatments for hair loss and steam treatments to combat the affects of dry hair, protect from humidity, and properly deep condition or moisturize hair. I like to focus on the long term overall health of the hair starting from the scalp. We may even discuss health and diet. Since being in Houston, I have put together a list of resources that we may not think we need to keep our hair together. Healthy is wealth!
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I really don’t like to discuss things that I have in the works. I like to share when it’s done. I do have a few major things that are near to my heart. I pray to bring to fruition in the very near future.
