Meet Keith Upchurch of Skopes Photography in Heights

Today we’d like to introduce you to Keith Upchurch.

Keith, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
As a freshman in college, my brother told me to find a craft of my own to become an entrepreneur. Growing up, I’ve always had a passion for taking photos even if it was on a cell phone. My brother helped me get my first camera, which allowed me to start practicing with a professional camera. From then on, I took pictures of just about anything trying to get as much experience as I could. I’m so glad that I had that chance to start small because I appreciate the big moments I capture today.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
This journey has been tough for me because I lost my father along the way. Losing him was devastating, he was one of my biggest supporters. I wish I could tell him about the famous people I have captured. I like to think that he is the reason things took off for me.

Please tell us about Skopes Photography.
My company is Skopes photography. We specialize in a vast number of things from event photography all the way to senior portraits. I’ve captured people like Travis Scott, Slim Thug, Lil Duval, India Love, and many more. I work hard making sure my clients like the product that I produced because they pay me to get great content.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I don’t think I would do anything differently if I had to start over because I wouldn’t have learned some of the things I know now. Everything happens for a reason.
