Today we’d like to introduce you to Kendramia Prestage
Hi Kendramia, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My story is a journey of growth and celebrations.
I have been blessed to pursue various personal hobbies and explore different professional industries. All of which has made me who I am today and to grow into who I am suppose to be.
Throughout my career so far, I have gained knowledge in areas of business, technology, education, non-profits, art, and writing.
I guess I can say I’ve earned the opportunities I’ve been blessed with. Alot of hard work and not being afraid to try new things has brought me to a place of peace. It has also guided me in understanding when you allow yourself to explore your creativity and dare to be different, life opens up a new path for you.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road. Some of the obstacles faced were not knowing exactly what I wanted in a career and not having a game plan. It took years of working jobs for the sake of needing money that helped me gain insight into what I am good at and what I love to do.
This is something I became comfortable with over time. Of course, I felt like I should have had things figured out while in college like some of my peers. As I dealt with the fact that it wasn’t my reality, I began to embrace what was being laid out before me. I learned I am good at a lot of things and it’s difficult to choose which one to focus on.
I soon learned many of peers had the same struggles. Juggling multiple interests can be stressful, but with the right plan and the right team, there are many possibilities. I learned to find place and frequency for each area I want to pursue and have them work for each other versus seperately from each other.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a training specialist. Some people call me the “Training Guru”. My job is to teach people how to use technology software, hardware and applications. I work for a college campus and service all faculty, staff and students.
I’m proud of having the ability to break down any application, system, hardware and software and teach others about it at any learning level. Helping others understand at their own level in order to build their confidence in using technology is a gift I am grateful for.
What sets me a part is the amount of patience I have! Lol. I get to see my participants eyes light up and a heaviness lifted off of their shouldes because of the relief they receive after taking one of my courses.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
Now that I’ve experienced quite a few things in life, what matters most to me now is celebrating and enjoying life to it’s fullest.
I say this because life is good. I recently had an opportunity to travel to Belize and I loved it! The serenity I experienced opened my eyes to the wonders I have yet to explore around the world. Just a 2 hour plane ride from Houston and my thoughts about the world opened up more. I gained a new appreciation for education, health and love.
