Today we’d like to introduce you to Kendrick Scott.
Kendrick, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
SneakerGeeks Clothing was simply an idea as far back as 2005 and was officially created in 2009. I noticed that there wasn’t much of a variety when it came to clothing to match sneakers. That is when I got my close friend Rashaad who has a degree in graphic design to create a logo that would resemble a SneakerGeek. We started with one color logo tees and a matching trucker hats. It was a while before the items were available to the public. I was enjoying the fact that I was wearing something I knew I would be the other person wearing it. Many people started inquiring about the merchandise and that when I released an assortment of different color logo tees to the public. I then knew I had to level up and create other items besides logos tees and that is when I started making Varsity Jackets. I want to say we are the Pioneers of making Sneaker Matching Varsity Jackets. We created our first line of Varsity jackets in Winter 2011. To this date, I would guess we’ve released a minimum of 50 various jackets ranging from Varsity, Baseball, Satin and Sublimated Bombers. We thrive on adding new styles of fashion to the brand. We are proud of our newly added Tracksuits, Sweatsuits, Short Sets, Windbreaker and Bubble Jackets. I look forward to seeing us push the envelope even further.
Has it been a smooth road?
We wouldn’t be honest if we said it had been a smooth road. I would say it has been a road worth traveling. A lot of trial and error, but most importantly, lessons were learned. Finding legitimate manufacturers I would say has been the biggest challenge of them all. I’m all about Quality and Service. Starting out for the most part many of them failed the test. I’m glad to say now we have relationships with professional manufacturers that produce our merchandise to our specs and the turnaround time is punctual.

We specialize in producing a wide variety of clothing to match the hottest sneakers. We are not limited to just t-shirts. We separate ourselves by actively having a full selection of different clothing. If it’s hot to us we will make something to match it depending on the season. I enjoy creating clothing for the craziest sneakers. Those are actually our top sellers. We love our repeated customers. We have customers that’s been with us since the very beginning and they are still rocking with us. That’s love!!
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I feel like Houston has embraced us. I’m from New Orleans and relocated here after Hurricane Katrina. It’s been nothing but love In the city. It’s a major city, so it’s culturally diverse. Whatever lane you are in and you are true to it, you will gain the support.
