Today we’d like to introduce you to Kerry Kilpatrick.
Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
Kerry Kilpatrick is a combination of the four elements: Water, Fire, Air, & Earth. Being creative allows me to live in a world where I am TRUE to my authenticity which inspires others. My music is being written like a musical where each element/emotion will be displayed through lyrical content and visuals. When asked who is Kerry Kilpatrick? I am motivational, challenging, heartwarming, radiant, polite, professional, bougie, graceful, selfless, coy, resilient, destined, ambitious & true.
Please tell us about your art.
I am an artist that uses quotes, lyrics, dance, and poetry to tell my story. My musical catalog will vividly paint my journey which causes me to be completely transparent. I want to inspire those who have given up on themselves to push through because GOD has great things in store for you! Music is my therapy, and it connects each and every one of us. My creative space is organic. PA Smoothe (Producer) and Ametria Dock (Vocal Coach) helps me dig deep and sing from the soul letting it all hang out. My music will be my fingerprint… individualized but relatable.
Choosing a creative or artistic path comes with many financial challenges. Any advice for those struggling to focus on their artwork due to financial concerns?
Everyone won’t have the “starving artist” story. It’s ok to use your degrees or other talents to help build your career. It’s called an INVESTMENT! Record labels are not developing artists, but this is definitely something you can do for yourself. There will be long nights and sacrifice, but it will be worth it in the end. You can’t expect others to invest in you if you’re not willing to invest in yourself!
