Today we’d like to introduce you to Kevin Turcios.
Kevin, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
A couple of years ago, I picked up a camera with the intention of capturing life adventures and doing private videos of my life with friends without expectations of exposure. As I continued to do so, it became my joy to be able to record something in real-time, put it together in my own personal way, then show it to the world so that they could have a reaction. I started recording videos at a Physical Therapy clinic in Katy so they their patients could better understand how to do the exercises that they were given. It quickly became more and more to the point where I was being asked by different people to do bigger projects. It was at that point I decided I needed to put my full energy into this thing. It wasn’t because people liked my project, though I’m glad they are satisfied with it, the reason I love doing what I do is that I get to take someone’s story, capture thousands of images within the session, and share it with people. It’s so fulfilling to be able to share people’s stories because we all have something unique about us and why not show it to the world.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Of course not. I’ve had a lot of ups and downs. Many thoughts of quitting, giving up, “this is not for me” type moments. When I would be in the presence of some awesome videographers here in Houston, good friends of mine too, I felt insecure about my ability. I tried so many things to try to emulate these guys. But I had to stick to what I do best and be unique in my own way.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Turcios Productions – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
My business is a photo/video marketing company aimed to help businesses communicate with their customers at a larger level. We do a lot of videos for small businesses and right now, I work with a physical therapy business located in Austin & Houston called Parr PT and a Non-profit organization in Austin (LSPF) and a couple of others here and there.
I am most proud of my business being involved with the medical field so that the health industry can help more people by using videos, like the ones we make, as a way to connect to much needed medical attention much quicker than ever before. I wouldn’t say my company is set apart, but our goal is to bring people together so that we all succeed. We want to help serve our community in many ways and that’s why we do what we do. We want to use every video we make to help our community in every way possible.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Our plans are to keep our consistency, gaining new clients, and expanding into Austin. We have a long term goal of starting a non-profit which will help sponsor patients who cannot afford physical therapy by helping them tell their story and providing outlets to get therapy. We are working with a couple of designers to update our logo and updating our website.
