Today we’d like to introduce you to Khiva Mackey.
Khiva, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Children Like Loni started in 2015 when I lost my 11 daughter “Loni” unexpectedly to cardiomyopathy a heart disease that we weren’t aware of or prepared for.
The love Loni had for all mankind was the reason for me to continue to spread and share her love through giving back to those in need. Children Like Loni started out with less than ten children and today we have served over 1000 children in the Harris, FT. Bend, and Waller counties with networks of care.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Although we try to serve all children that come into our path, sometimes not often we have to place on a waiting list until we’re able to receive more funding. We struggle to provide meals, hygiene supplies, and clothing.
Please tell us about Children Like Loni Foundation.
