Meet Kim Cao of Cao and Co Real Estate Group in West Chase

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kim Cao.

Kim, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started out in real estate at the age of 18 as a broker assistant and Listing Coordinator. After finishing with Bachelors’s Degree in Advertising and minor in global business and Entrepreneurship from the University of Houston Main Campus, I went on to try out different roles in corporate world. Then in 2015, I decided to get my real estate license and start my career. Since then, I’ve met a lot of great mentors who have helped me grow as a person and a professional. I’ve gotten certified for many designations including Accredited Buyer’s Representative, Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist, Accredited Luxury Home Specialist, Social Media Pro, and Texas Realtor Leadership Program 2019 graduate. I’ve become more involved with the HAR professional development advisory boards, the Asian American Real Estate Association board and have built a steady business for myself. This year I achieved my goal of starting my own team and is working on my broker license.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
There’s always obstacles and challenges. One of my biggest one is breaking into the luxury market. It’s tough since there are a lot of great seasoned professionals already in the game, I have a lot to learn from. I’ve been very blessed with great friends and clients who believe in me and had referred me to great sources that can help me get closer to the goal. I have also been educated, certified to market luxury products. I’ve been working on a couple of wonderful deals and I can’t wait to be even further involved.

Please tell us about Cao and Co Real Estate Group.
I am first and foremost, a residential specialist. I also manage a team of my own, Cao and Co Real Estate Group powered by Apex Pro Real Estate, a boutique local firm in Westchase. I love residential real estate because I love helping my friends and clients find their home sweet home. It makes me very happy to be a part of such a wonderful journey. Every client is different, and every file is unique, so some takes more work but it is so worth it at the end when my clients are happy at the closing table. I believe in clear communication and integrity is my core value. I believe in long term relationships rather than short transactions, so I make sure my clients are well educated with the process and all that involved. I also like to make sure that the clients get a smooth and stress-free experience while dealing with the largest investment of their lives.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Honestly, I loved every experience I’ve been through. Each is a great lesson and I definitely appreciate going through it and learning how to deal with the issues when they occur. I am so blessed to have the mentors around to help me get through the rough time. It’s nice to know that I can always count on them to help guide me.
